  • Mental Health disorders are treatable
  • Mental Health disorders are common 
  • No one should ever feel ashamed when they are in need of support or are in crisis
  • Help and support may not always be available or accessible
  • Not everyone has access to quality mental health support
  • Individuals have the right to decide what types of treatments and supports they receive
  • Every individual is different and should be treated as such
  • Our support and programs are open to all regardless of religion, ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation or diagnosis 

HOW WE ACCOMPLISH OUR GOALS:

  • MOTIVATE – We aim to inspire and educate individuals, their loved ones, support systems and organizations that individuals who struggle with mental health disorders or who have experienced suicidality have right to decide what forms of treatment works best for them
  • ADVOCATE – We believe advocating for those with lived experience and the services we require by engaging with local, state and federal policymakers
  • COLLABORATE – We actively work with local and national organizations and advocates to improve mental health care 
  • EDUCATE - We provide trainings, speeches, programs, and resources for individuals and their families, community members and organizations to help further understand mental health and suicidality.  
  • DONATE – Quality programming needs support. This is where YOU come in. Your financial support greatly helps improve mental health through early intervention, education and more. You support is 100% Tax-Deductible.

About Peer-Based Support

Where is the Sunshine? is rooted in the peer support model which is the “process of giving and receiving encouragement and assistance to achieve long-term recovery.” We do not provide professional therapy.
